| The opening of this Frigo Logistics coldstore in Poland gives the Nichirei Logistics Group its second facility in the country. The other one is in Znin, situated on the busy Berlin-Warsaw route. |
Frigo Logistics recently opened a new logistics center in Radomsko, Poland, to handle frozen food products. The 150,000-cubic-meter, 30,000 pallet position facility was built in a record time of 10 months at a cost of over 60 million zlotys, according to Wojciech Kluck, president of Frigo Logistics Ltd.
The company, a member of the Tokyo, Japan-based Nichirei Logistics Group, provides numerous temperature-controlled services for producers and distributors of frozen foods. They range from transporting products from factory to coldstore, to warehousing, order picking labeling and repacking, to distribution to receivers such as retail chains, and transport to factories.
The computer-operated coldstore, reportedly one of the most modern in Poland, is equipped with Dutch and Japanese-engineered applied technology that is ultra energy efficient. Seventy workers are employed at the facility, which is situation in the Lodz Special Economic Zone (LSEZ), which provides it with easy access to the planned A1 highway (Radomsko Loop). |
